General information about the faculty
The Faculty of History and International Relations is one of the oldest at Vasyl’ Stus Donetsk National University. More than 80 years ago, the formation of the University began with the faculty of History and Philology.
Today, the Faculty of History and International Relations of Vasyl’ Stus Donetsk National University is a modern educational and scientific space, based on powerful teaching staff and modern scientific schools.
The faculty offers unique regional education programs in the fields of History & Archeology and International Relations, Public Communication & Regional Studies, combining European teaching methods, practice-oriented training and a focus on soft-skills development.
The Faculty fulfills its educational mission in accordance with the University Development Strategy 2017-2025, by shaping professional individuals in the field of historical and political sciences who are informed, innovative, self-identified, integrated into society.
They promote favorable conditions for researchers as well as implement a multi-level system of interaction in the format of living-learning-community in the educational, scientific, and social activities of the University. Scientists, teachers, diplomats, deputies of the Verkhovna Rada, civil servants, analysts, journalists and well-known public figures are among the graduates of the faculty.
Bachelor’s degree
Educational qualification level of a person who, on the basis of complete general secondary education, has obtained basic higher education, fundamental and special skills and knowledge regarding the generalized object of work (activity), sufficient to fulfill the tasks and duties (activities) of a certain level of professional activity, intended for primary positions in a particular activity.
Master’s degree
A master’s degree is an educational qualification level of a specialist who, based on the bachelor’s qualification, has acquired in-depth special knowledge and skills of research and innovation character, has some experience of their application and production of new knowledge for solving problematic professional problems in a certain field.
